Join us today as we reveal the Chamber Jr. Carpinterian of the Year Scholarship
Carpinteria CA – The Santa Barbara South Coast Chamber of Commerce, from Goleta to Carpinteria is happy to announce that the Jr. Carpinterian of the Year Scholarship recipients have been selected. The Jr. Carpinterian of the Year will be announced and the three finalists will be honored today, Monday, May 24th at 4 PM at the Seal Sand Box in Carpinteria.
The 2020 Jr. Carpinterian of the Year Scholarship finalists include: Lucia Alarcon – Carpinteria High School, Laura Flores – Carpinteria High School, and Luke Williams – Bishop Diego High School.
The Press is invited to attend the REVEAL along with the student’s families at the Seal Sand Box near the beach at the end of Linden Avenue. Congressman Salud Carbajal and Mayor Wade Nomura will be among the Elected officials and will present Resolutions and Certificates of Recognition to the honorees.
The Jr. Carpinterian of the Year will receive a $4,000 scholarship and each of the two finalists will receive $1,500 scholarships.
The Chamber will also honor the students at the 63rd Carpinteria Community Awards event on Saturday, October 23rd at Pacifica Graduate Institute (pre-pandemic the Awards Gala was held in January each year). The 2021 Community Awards Gala will honor the Carpinterian of The Year, Jr. Carpinterian of the Year, two Jr. Carpinterian Scholarship Finalists, two Teachers of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, and the Ambassador of the year.
The REVEAL will be outdoor, socially distanced, and masks are mandatory.
The Jr. Carpinterian of the Year Scholarship application was made available to any graduating senior currently resides in the Carpinteria Valley.
