This week we highlight the following individuals.

Volunteer of the Year – Fritz Olenberger

Presented by Community West Bank

Fritz has become an invaluable asset to Goleta, volunteering to capture the essence of local events through his exceptional photography. His commitment during the pandemic, providing crucial images for fundraising, reflects a true embodiment of the spirit of community service.

Innovator of the Year – Demis D. John, PhD

Presented by Pacific Premier Bank

Demis is a driving force for innovation in the Goleta tech community. His leadership, notably through the UCSB NSF-funded “Prime” program, establishes pathways for workforce development, strengthening the community and fostering regional prosperity.

Public Servant of the Year – Allison Gray

Presented by ExxonMobil

Allison’s dedicated 15 impactful years to the Goleta Valley Library. Her commitment and leadership, especially during the challenges of COVID-19 closures, ensured the community’s continued access to essential library services. Her enduring legacy was celebrated during the library’s 50th-anniversary festivities.

President’s Award – Christine LeBon

Presented by Kristen Miller of the SBSC Chamber of Commerce

Christine LeBon, a community pillar, is honored for 28 years of dedicated service with this special award. From her role at the Goleta Chamber of Commerce to her diverse volunteer work, her enduring commitment leaves a lasting impact on the Goleta community.
