Building the Future Workforce: CHIP Program Connects Students with Industry

WordPress News Post (4)

Students, educators, and employers came together recently to network and learn more about the Classroom-Hosted Industry Partnership (CHIP) program being piloted in Carpinteria High School’s Warrior Workshop–an engineering and manufacturing workshop and design lab with state-of-the-art equipment.

As part of the Chamber’s continued efforts to both create stronger local talent pipelines and create more career opportunities for students, the CHIP program aims to create partnerships between Career Technical Education (CTE) classrooms and technology & manufacturing employers. Through these partnerships students are provided with employer-guided classroom projects which provide students with industry connections, mentorship, and real workplace experiences.

Attendees networked regarding additional CHIP partnerships, learned from school administrators and teachers about the benefits of these partnerships, and heard from students about their experience in the Warrior Workshop and the current industry partner Rincon Engineering.
