At the Chamber’s recent Quarterly Government Affairs Meeting, more than 25 business representatives joined with leaders from Southern California Edison and the Cities of Santa Barbara, Goleta, and Carpinteria to address one of our region’s most pressing concerns: electricity reliability. The discussion was guided by the Chamber’s Power On document and explored both immediate challenges and potential solutions. The meeting featured an interactive roundtable focused on identifying opportunities for collaboration amongst these local stakeholders.

Looking ahead, the Chamber is advancing several next steps. These include pursuing more quality data to better understand grid challenges, collaborating with Southern California Edison to prioritize support for the region’s most impacted businesses, and advocating for state-level reforms. By keeping electricity reliability at the top of its policy agenda, the Chamber is committed to ensuring the South Coast remains a competitive and resilient place to do business.
