The Chamber’s Government Affairs meeting on February 12 brought together local business representatives and government staff to discuss the hospitality and tourism industry, one of the top economic drivers on the South Coast.

Hospitality representatives discussed common industry issues such as permitting, regulations, and workforce retention. Elected officials and staff from Goleta, Santa Barbara, Carpinteria, the County, the Office of Assembly Member Gregg Hart, and the Office of Senate President Pro Tempore Monique Limón were in attendance and expressed their support for the hospitality sector and streamlining processes. Following this productive event, the Chamber plans to convene meetings with local jurisdictions, restaurant owners, and architects to discuss the implementation of Assembly Bill 671, a new state bill that accelerates restaurant renovation permits.
