Chamber Explores Employer-Sponsored Housing Consortium

In March 2023, the Chamber launched the Roadmap to Recovery: The Road Home. Part of this document outlines the idea of exploring employer-sponsored housing. The Chamber is exploring an employer-sponsored housing consortium that could be one tool towards helping with our current housing supply crisis and would give employers of varying sizes the opportunity to realistically participate in an employer-sponsored housing program.

Recently, the Chamber met with County Supervisors Capps and Hartman, as well as County Planning Staff, to discuss how the County can accommodate solutions like employer-sponsored housing and work together with businesses to address any barriers.

The Chamber is working with a consultant who has experience in this area and is holding initial conversations with a group of business stakeholders who may be interested in investing in housing for their workforce.
