Chamber Hosts State Street Business Roundtable to Discuss Interim Solutions
This week the Chamber hosted a State Street Business Roundtable to discuss the business environment on the street and potential changes. This meeting focused on the state of retail in Santa Barbara’s downtown, after the previous roundtable focused on restaurants and outdoor dining. While many attendees were hopeful about the potential of downtown and State Street, it was clear that more action needs to be taken between now and the implementation of the State Street Master Plan. After the previous roundtable made it clear that a shuttle service to downtown was top priority, and the Chamber’s quick response to set up a Visitor Trolley pilot program, the group was eager to discuss other potential pilot programs related to activations and transportation which could be realized through the collaboration of the Chamber, City, and other local organizations.
