Mask Mandate Update

On February 15th California’s statewide mask mandate expired. Unvaccinated individuals will still be required to wear masks in indoor public settings. However, the mandate continues to be in effect for K-12 schools, healthcare settings, public transit, and long-term care facilities.
On February 16th Santa Barbara County followed suit lifting its mask mandate while maintaining the same guidelines. For more information on State mask guidelines, click here.
Public Health officials continue to urge residents to stay vigilant and consider their personal risk factors, as well as consider masking in crowded areas when the vaccination status of others is unknown. Businesses will still be allowed to enact their own mask policies by either allowing individuals to enter acknowledging that they self-attest to vaccination status, requiring verification of vaccination status, or requiring that all patrons continue to weak masks.
