SEPTEMBER PUBLIC POLICY COMMITTEE UPDATE

At last month’s Public Policy Committee meeting on September 28 the committee welcomed Mike Sanders and Dave Schierman with American Medical Response (AMR). Sanders and Schierman presented to the committee on AMR’s history and operations in Santa Barbara County and discussed the upcoming Santa Barbara County emergency services contract bids.

The committee welcomed Garrett Wong with the County of Santa Barbara and Dana Murray with the City of Goleta. Wong and Murray presented to the committee on the collaboration between the County, the City of Goleta, and the City of Carpinteria to develop reach codes to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in new buildings constructions, which would lead to all-electric buildings without natural gas.

The committee also heard from Robert Forouzandeh with the property owners of the Funk Zone SoMo project site and Heidi Jones with Suzanne Elledge Planning and Permitting Services regarding the details and purpose of the Funk Zone SoMo development project.
