South Coast Housing Champions

For years, the Chamber has been at the forefront of advocating for workforce housing in our community, due to local employers consistently listing a lack of housing supply for their employees as a top barrier to business on the South Coast.

That is why the Chamber was proud to attend the Coastal Housing Coalition’s 2023 Housing Conference where local leaders, housing practitioners, and other community members came together to discuss the realities of housing throughout the region, and the State.

Additionally, the Chamber continues to push forward with efforts on the creation of an employer sponsored housing consortium, which will allow employers to secure housing for their employees. In 2024 the Chamber will be working closely with employers, property owners, developers, and the County of Santa Barbara to make the consortium a reality and begin to secure housing for the local workforce.
