CONGRESSMAN CARBAJAL TOURS UCSB NANOFABRICATION FACILITY

Congressman Salud Carbajal joined the Chamber for a roundtable discussion and tour at the UC Santa Barbara NanoFabrication Facility, last Friday October 7.

UCSB’s “NanoFab” is home to advanced cleanroom facilities and is a central piece of the South Coast’s high tech manufacturing industry. The purpose of Friday’s meeting was to discuss the importance of the UCSB NanoFab and the South Coast as a high-tech manufacturing hub for the U.S., and options for how the federal CHIPS Act funding, and other programs, can benefit our region’s continued growth in this sector. The discussion was led by the NanoFab’s expert staff, UCSB professors, and representatives from local companies who utilize the facility for the production of their cutting-edge products. The Chamber thanks Congressman Carbajal for his attendance, as well as an engaged discussion.
