Santa Barbara County Childcare Survey

Lack of stable childcare has been identified as one of the many factors that have contributed to a workforce shortage both locally and nationally. That is why last year the County Board of Supervisors agreed to set aside $2 million of ARPA funds to address the sustainability of the childcare sector. First 5 Santa Barbara County is working to gather data on childcare demand to better inform the County’s response to this issue.

First 5 is asking that local businesses that feel they have been impacted by employees having a lack of available childcare fill out a quick 5-minute survey to better inform policy change at the County level. For the employer survey, click here.

First 5 is also asking that local businesses share the secondary survey with their workforce, regardless of if they have young children. Employees are encouraged to share this survey with their friends and families. For the employer survey, click here. For the survey in Spanish, click here.
