SOUTH COAST TECHNOLOGY AND MANUFACTURING | WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT ROUNDTABLE

Workforce Development was the topic of discussion at a recent convening of the South Coast Technology and Manufacturing representatives hosted by the Chamber. Technology and Manufacturing companies are a critical part of the South Coast economy and are experiencing many of the same labor shortage challenges as other industries. The event was focused on connecting attendees with local programs and agencies that can help them hire locally as well as train and inspire the next generation of technology and manufacturing workers. Topics of discussion included the upcoming UC Santa Barbara Cleanroom Training Program, Partners in Education’s Job Readiness Training & Internship Programs, UC Santa Barbara Career Services, UC Santa Barbara’s Professional and Continuing Education, and workforce data and insights provided by LinkedIn.
